Legitimate Business is a recording studio located in Greensboro, NC established in 2009.

The studio features an 800 sq ft live room with 12’ ceilings, 450 sq ft control room, and 200 sq ft isolation booth. All rooms are tied together with multiple mic, instrument, and speaker lines for flexibility. There is also a small break room (coffee, fridge, microwave) and bathroom, as well as a large back yard.

The live room has concrete floors and wood walls which leads to a big, natural sound. The energy of this room lends itself to acoustic instruments like drums and piano. Conversely, The isolation booth is treated to be drier for more direct sounds without too much roominess. Both offer their own advantages for different tones and characteristics while retaining the original life of the sound source.

The control room is well balanced and offers a generous yet intimate working space. It’s large enough to comfortably fit an array of synths, pedals, or guitars without feeling cramped while also retaining intimacy. It features multiple sets of speakers for clarity in what you’re hearing as well as enough seating for an entire band.

LGTBIZ features a range of vintage to modern recording equipment, guitars, synths, amps, and microphones. The studio is setup to record fully analog or take advantage of modern digital recording. The gear list below is kept up to date but new equipment is constantly being acquired and may not be listed. Also let us know if there’s something you’re looking for and we may be able to track it down for your session!
